Mastery Series - The Road to Success

Welcome everyone to the "Road to Success" from Internet Marketing Secrets. What I'm about to share with you is a series of articles, The Mastery Series. It's the path I followed, trail blazed by my mentors, which quickly became my road to success.
Three short years ago I was a struggling web site designer with ten years of traditional pre-press and graphic design behind me. I was in debt, squeaking by, in a brutal market place, with a bunch of customers that just didn't "get it".
It was an ongoing educational process that was slowly killing me. I was standing on my soap box, time after time, justifying to clients that the internet is the most important communications revolution since Gutenberg invented the printing press... "Why don't you get it?"
I left a decent job to strike it rich on the internet. I looked at how people were using the internet, what they were looking for, and what they would be willing to pay for.
I left everything behind and took a chance on promoting a guy working out of his parent's basement. The result - cellwest.com - generated over $750,000 in internet revenues in their FIRST year with no advertising costs.
Then I wrote a book (Nothing But 'Net) on how I did it. Now I write newsletters and get paid way more than I ever did working for someone else. I even have PC software coming out (SearchEngineCommando.com) with my name on it.
YES, there is room for everyone on the internet. Afterall, no one else is you. And no one sees the world quite the way that you do. All you need to do is find an existing market, something that you are passionate about, identify a key problem area, solve the problem, sell the solution, and repeat the process. Easy? Yes! Once you have the right mentors to follow.
What I would like to share with you now is the story of the turnaround that followed. So without further fanfare, here is my story....
In the beginning there was a seminar called the "Internet Marketing Mastermind Summit" hosted by Jonathan Mizel. I couldn't miss it! I already knew about Jonathan because I had been using his marketing material to promote companies.
I had also been using Stephen Mahaney's Planet Ocean "Winning the Search Engine Wars" book to provide search engine positioning for clients, but I wanted more, way, way more. I was tired of having dozens of clients coming and going, all trying to get something for nothing, not understanding the true value of my services. I wanted to work for myself, from home, and have customers coming to me, not the other way around.
I decided to put down my designer's hat, and become an internet marketer and consultant. To come up with my own product. To sell it on the 'net. But I never would have got started, if it wasn't for a little spark, about to ignite the explosion of enlightenment.
At Jonathan's annual Marketing Summit in Boulder CO, I was about to meet Jonathan Mizel, Marlon Sanders, Stephen Mahaney, Declan Dunn, Cory Rudl, Patrick Anderson, and my life.... would never be the same again.
