Lesson #4 - Are Your Promotions and Marketing
Not Working? I Will Tell You Why!

I hear from people everyday saying "I tried bulk email and it didn't work" or
"I tried ezine classified ads and it didn't work for me" and so on. You know what? It was not the
bulk email that didn't work or the ezine classified ads that
didn't work or whatever... it was your sales copy that
didn't work!
It is the "marketing" that sells the product, NOT the
"vehicle" you decided to advertise your product/service
with.
If you were using bulk email in this case, the problem
wasn't the software, it wasn't the number of people to whom
you sent it, it wasn't that bulk email doesn't work for
anyone...
IT WAS YOUR MARKETING!
You see, if you had copy that worked, you can use those
exact same "pulling" words (ie. slogans and headlines) in
your banner advertising, newsgroup advertising, classified
advertising, keywords for your search engine ranking, and on
and on.
It all comes down to writing compelling copy.
Let me expand on that.
You can be marketing with targeted commercial email, or
banner ads, or posting to newsgroups, or advertising in
ezines and so on - If you have a great headline or slogan to
get visitors to the site and know what marketing methods to
use to get that headline and slogan in front of more people
(therefore getting more traffic to your site), half your
battle is over.
This is where most people fail - and it shows in their
traffic. They may have a killer website, but no traffic
because:
1) They do not have the "pull" (sales copy - headlines -
slogans) to get people to the site
OR
2) They don't know what marketing techniques to use to get
great headlines (or slogans) they may have out on the net in
front of their target audience.
You see, once you have a "winning" sales process, you can
duplicate those results in almost any marketing method.
Think it through it makes sense, right?
So what is the moral of this story?
If you did something and if it failed there could be a few
reasons, but it was probably due to the fact that your copy
did not work!
Why do you think that people pay me $640 per hour and book
weeks in advance? It's because I can write copy that people
understand and make them want to take action. It is
believable and at the same time, motivating. I speak from
the heart, I say what I feel, and if I believe in and get
excited about something, it comes out in my writing. If you
lie or stretch the truth in your copy, it shows. If you can
get excited about something, just be yourself and write from
the heart as if you were talking to someone about it right
in front of you - your enthusiasm will come through in your
copy. This alone is a major key to writing effective copy
that sells.
Writing killer sales copy, I mean the kind that really reaches
you customer, one the turns their needs into wants...
something they feel they just must have, takes a lot of
practice. Anyone that thinks they can sit down and write a
powerful sales copy on their very first try is horribly
mistaken. Do you realize my first sales letter took me over
two weeks to write... yes I said two weeks! It took me a
very long time before I was able to actually sit down and
write the killer copy that everybody is now asking for.
My powerful and convincing sales copy is just one of the
