Hello, my name is Dan Porteous and I manage the SIM site from Kirkland Lake in Northern Ontario, Canada.
Startup Internet Marketing was launched in February of 2000 with the idea of sharing my startup business experiences with others coming behind. I knew I could save "newbies" time and money with the tools and stategies I was searching out to put this site together, working 18/7 with little budget.

I'm not going to tell you it's easy, because it's not.

It's not going to happen overnight and there will be days when you want to give it all up, but you must keep trying. As long as you keep trying, you haven't failed. You only fail when you stop trying. You must be totally committed to your success and it'll happen.

Further, to automate your business and free up your time for more important tasks like promoting your website, testing campaigns, and building new revenue streams.
In most cases there is a free tool or online service that will do the job quite adequately - you'll find these in our free tools and service sections.
However, "free" isn't always the best solution!

Startup Internet Marketing has a well-designed page that I really like, mainly because the company paid close attention to the images. There aren't a lot of them, but they are well crafted and display quickly.
Another reason this page grabbed my attention is that it follows the KISS principle. Obviously, this designer has great ability. The table format that allows the one block to stand out, the use of color, the images, all point to knowledge of the craft.
But he didn't go overboard. The killer app of this page is to get you started with Internet marketing, not to make you ooooh and ahhhh at the page. The designer used a basic font--no italics. Attention is drawn to the key words in the sentence with bold type. The roll-overs are text. It is simple yet functional, and it looks crisp.
Your site must do one thing and do it well. It cannot be all things to all people. Your design must be good and support that killer app. In my opinion, this site has done just that.

I spent about 6 hours at Dan's site and downloaded several great articles. I suggest you all do the same. The only person that will not learn something valuable here is the person already making $100,000 a year plus from their on-line business.
